A boy, 5 years old…
One boy that joined at five years of age didn’t want to talk to anyone besides his family, which was something his teachers had already reported.
Halfway through his first session, after playing with playdough, he asked if there was something to eat and, as he was eating his peanut butter sandwich, he started talking about his friends from school and his neighbor to me and to another teacher that occasionally observed the space.
It was evident that this child felt great confidence in the third space and allowed himself to do something that he couldn’t do at school. Very soon his teachers started asking his family what had happened, for now he would talk to everyone.
This boy is a great student now and will pursue a career in Arts
